It was a dramatic moment, though, as Amara and Silas vanished into the woods. After Silas died, Amara stabbed herself in the gut. If she died before the spell was complete, the "other side" would disappear along with Bonnie. And so, Bonnie and Jeremy began to say goodbye. But then, he touched her. And she felt it.
The spell worked, but it came at a high cost. Amara and Silas were dead and together on the "other side." Thwarted of her vengeance, Tessa also killed herself. With two doppelgangers gone, the show will certainly be less confusing, but there was one side effect no one realized. After Tessa died, she appeared in front of Bonnie and told her that every supernatural being who dies will now have to pass through her ... and it's extremely painful.
“Is it any wonder why Damon ... always referred to [former anchor] Amara as ‘crazy pants?’ I’d be pretty freakin’ crazy, too!” wrote Hollywood Life's Andy Swift. Still, Buddy TV's Jennifer Lind-Westbrook figures it was worth it. "Everybody gets a happy ending: Caroline and Elena get their friend back, Stefan gets to exact vengeance on Silas, Tessa guarantees the permanent separation of Amara and her ex, Jeremy and Bonnie get to make out and stuff, and Damon scores big points for keeping his promise to Elena.”
